Oct. 17 proved itself a blockbuster evening for fashion on Vashon Island! More than 15 Island designers, 100 volunteers and 250 attendees came together for a full scale runway show at O, Vashon’s Open Space for Arts & Community. The Vashonistas, the name of the design collaborative, are currently in the process of obtaining non profit status. After show expenses, treasurer Sally Shivers announced the group will be donating $500 to the Vashon-Maury Community Food Bank. There will be no check presentation, Shivers noted. The group will be issuing its check next week, just as the VMC Food Bank braces for the holidays. Vashonistas are already getting ready for next year’s event. Congratulations to all who made it possible.
